Update: Hamilton, aka Bean, is back with his original owner who rescued him at just four weeks old, and carried him around in her pocket while at work to keep him warm.  Hamilton's rescuer thought maybe Hamilton was happy where he had been afterall, and did some sleuthing.  She found out that his owner saved his life when he was attacked by the dog unexpectedly, and even got her finger broken!  She was told the dog was good with cats when she adopted her!  Her current dog who has known Hamilton since coming to the home, has been missing him, and looking for him.
Hamilton is down 3 & 1/2 pounds with his foster working hard over two months and putting up with him being hangry, and his owner promises to continue to work on getting his weight down (He's less hangry now!).  Turns out, Hammy was eating the dog food of the owner's previous dog in such a sneaky way that she did not notice it before he passed, just family members noticed an increase in his size!  We wish them all the best, and are happy we could reunite Bean with his owner and dog pal.

Hamilton is a big guy.  He needed rescued after his owner's new dog attacked him, and wounded his rear left leg. His owner loved him, but surrendered him to the county shelter when she was told the care from the bite wound would be costly at a regular vet, and there was a good chance he would not survive his wounds, and recover well with his big size.  The vet there did a terrifc job of putting Hammy's muscles back in place!  Hamilton's leg is all healed now, and he's ready for his new home.  His foster mom is working on getting his weight down, and he's not too happy about it.  He needs a special person that will help him feel at ease.  Please call (561) 784-4792 for more information or to arrange to meet Hammy.
