A very sweet and loving dog. He has been with me, his owner and foster mom since he was 7 weeks old. Nearing 4 years he's subjected to a rather singled-out life with no one to play with. He fought with house mates to acquire the alpha position and from that point he has been separated and having out time alone. IMPORTANT: DOES NOT DO WELL with other dogs or cats or small animals. He desires to be loved and taught. Recent work with a reputable trainer has deemed him very adoptable and eager to please ad learn. Although he fought for alpha position, he is reported as a 'follower'. He learned behavior modification techniques in one hour that most problem dogs do in three weeks. He is great with people and would need a strong alpha human to give him direction and guidance. He loved frisbee and ball throwing and is a great swimmer.
At 3 months of age he was diagnised with hip displasia, and although he runs rather awkwardly, he still runs as fast as any other dog.
He would make a great companion for someone who doesn't have, nor intends to have another dog. Although the trainer has said that he can, and we intend to make him a dog without aggression to other dogs. If this is so.. he just may stay where he is, because he is a wonderful sweet and lovng dog, but he needs his own owner, one who can give him more time.
Please contact me ONLY if interested at puppyshak@aol.com, to meet him in person. AFTER filling out an online application.
